Flyrods at Cross Village Dec 5, 2015, 3-021I have been a woodworker for over thirty-five years. A few years ago I was invited by my brother-in-law, who is an avid fly fisherman, to join him and a few other family members in a week-long fly rod building class taught by master instructor, Ron Barch. My first reaction was just what I need another hobby, but after the first day of the class I was hooked. For me rod building combines the perfect blend of craftsmanship, science and art into a tangible object that is made to be used and will bring the owner years of pleasure. What could be better?

For my rods I use the finest Tonkin cane and all top quality components; nickel silver stripping guides and reel seat hardware, nickel silver super z ferrules, snake brand guides with silk wraps and custom turned reel sets out of various exotic hardwoods.
